Fun Ideas for Easter Home Decorations and Table Decor with Dyed Eggs

Dyed eggs are a big part of Easter home decorations and a making them is a wonderful Easter-time activity for kids. Make a fun day out of this activity and create batches of colorful and creative eggs for baskets, the egg hunt and Easter table decor. Here are some unique egg decoration ideas.

Smiley Eggs
These Easter eggs are sure to be a hit with older children aged 10 to 12. It's a very simple crafting project and all that's needed for it is yellow dye and a black marker. Dye eggs yellow and let dry completely. Have your kids draw smiley faces on them with the black marker to resemble different emoticons. These smiley eggs can be a part of Easter home decorations as centerpieces or mantle displays.

Message Eggs
For this Easter table decor project you will need: acrylic paint and alphabet outline stickers. Choose acrylic paint in spring shades like pink, yellow and robin's egg blue. Use the alphabet stickers (easily available in craft stores) to spell different spring words like "Easter", "Bunny", "Spring", etc. Apply the stickers to your eggs; you can use one word per egg or multiple words for one egg. Paint your eggs with acrylic paint and let dry completely. Peel away stickers to reveal defined words underneath. Nestle these eggs in a basket lined with faux grass and use as a centerpiece.

5-Minute Eggs
Embellishments such as ribbons and stickers can be used decorate eggs for Easter table decor or displays in five minutes or less. You will need dyed eggs or foam eggs for this project along with embellishments of your choice. A colorful ribbon is a great choice. Glue a ribbon across the length and width of the eggs and your eggs are done. Color code the ribbons with the color of the dyed eggs.

If you wish to use stickers, choose spring-themed one like daisies. Apply them to two dozen or so eggs and use them for the Easter egg hunt. You can find a wide range of stickers such as three-dimensional ones, glittery ones and glow-in-the-dark stickers in craft stores and scrapbook supply stores to add a element of fun to Easter egg art.
